Is G-Unit Finally Over?

July 4th, 2008 | No Comments | Buzz, General, News

It’s been four days since T.O.S. dropped and it seems like everybody is waiting for next Tuesday when sales reports are in so they can scream, “G-UNIT FLOPPED!”  There’s nothing official yet but we have sites claiming it’s set to do about 700,000 first week and sites saying it’s projected to do about 110,000.

If they do indeed only move 110,000 units, it’s safe to say that it’s a flop and G-Unit is no longer the super group that they used to be.  But yall gotta remember that their first group album Beg For Mercy only did like 370,000 the first week and eventually went platinum.  Group albums really never do that well anyway.

This is all pretty hilarious though.  The Game and Buck fans are quick to claim credit for G-Unit’s downfall.  The 50 Cent fans are all in denial about the possible 110k sales number.

Is this the end for G-Unit?  Probably, if they flop.  50 Cent doesn’t look like he has much pull anymore over at Interscope.  They’ve made too many enemies in the industry and they’re definitely feeling the backlash right now.  I think we can all agree that G-Unit is just not as strong as they used to be.  It’s a shame because they’ve been releasing nothing but good material since the start of 2008.

OTHER NEWS…
Coming out later this year is 50’s last album as an artist on Interscope Records entitled Before I Self Destruct.  This will be his fourth solo album.

50 will also be dropping The 50 Laws of Power which is a spin of Robert Greene’s The 48 Laws of Power.

How Is Lil Mama a Judge on ABDC?

June 22nd, 2008 | 2 Comments | Buzz

Okay, I know I’m not the only one that’s wondering what the fuck was Randy Jackson thinking when he picked Lil Mama as a judge for America’s Best Dance Crew?  How is Lil Mama qualified again? What are her credentials?  How much experience does she have?  Isn’t she like 18?

In addition to the questions posed above, her comments and criticism as a judge on the show are stupid as fuck.  She needs to step her vocabulary game up.  Whenever I hear her speak, it just makes me feel dumber.  She goes WAAAAY overboard with that slang too.  I was checking the MTV site and there’s tons of comments from people expressing the same views as me, so I’m not alone on this.  I’m cool with Shane and JC though because they sound like they know what they’re talking about.

And oh yeah, her album dropped last month and it only moved like 19,000 copies.  19,000.  FLOP!  She blamed her record label Jive for not promoting her right.  No Lil Mama… your music is wack.
